Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated ABA Caregiver to support individuals undergoing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy. The successful candidate will assist with daily activities, implement behavior intervention plans under the guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), and contribute to the overall progress and well-being of our clients. Key Responsibilities:
- Direct Client Support:
- Assist clients with daily living activities to promote independence and safety.
- Provide consistent, compassionate care while implementing individualized ABA behavior intervention plans.
- ABA Plan Implementation:
- Follow detailed behavior plans created by a BCBA, ensuring interventions are executed accurately.
- Utilize positive reinforcement techniques and structured activities to encourage desirable behaviors.
- Monitoring & Reporting:
- Observe and document client behaviors, progress, and any challenges encountered during care sessions.
- Communicate regularly with the ABA team and family members to share updates and adjust strategies as necessary.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with multidisciplinary team members, including therapists, educators, and family caregivers, to ensure cohesive care.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to stay current on ABA best practices.
- Environmental Management:
- Help maintain a safe, supportive, and engaging environment conducive to learning and growth.
- Assist in setting up therapy sessions and preparing materials as directed by the ABA team.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in psychology, special education, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience in caregiving, working with individuals with developmental disabilities, or within an ABA program is highly desirable.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Basic understanding of ABA principles and behavior management techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and team members.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and adaptable in challenging situations.
